Who We Are

The Veteran's Administration (VA)  Veterans Transportation Program (VTP) offers veterans many travel solutions to and from their VA healthcare facilities. This program offers these services at little or no costs to eligible veterans through the following services:

Beneficiary Travel (BT);

Veterans Transportation Service (VTS);

Highly Rural Transportation Grants (HRTG).

By meeting eligibility income and ability requirements, veterans are either transported or reimbursed for mileage if their VA appointment is approved. If determined to be medically necessary, wheelchair and stretcher transportation is available.

A fixed-route bus transportation service is also available between VA clinic locations in Wytheville, Danville, Lynchburg, and Staunton. The bus holds 32 passengers and allows caregivers to ride with the veteran.
