Mason Veterans and Servicemembers Legal Clinic

The Mason Veterans and Service members Legal clinic (M-VETS), Antonin Scalia Law School, is dedicated to providing law students with hands-on practice-oriented education via the application of their substantive law studies to assisting active-duty members of the armed forces, their families, and veterans with free representation in matters of clear injustice or those matters where they could not retain counsel without undue hardship.

Legal services are limited to (1) civil matters such as negotiation and litigation in consumer protection, family law (uncontested divorce, step-parent adoptions, name change matters), landlord-tenant and contract issues, only in the courts of Northern Virginia (Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, Loudoun, Fauquier and Stafford counties); and (2) administrative and military law and entitlement matters, Medical/Physical evaluation Board representation, VA entitlements, and service-connection or rating appeals and discharge upgrade applications. M-VETS does not accept criminal or contested family law matters.
