Attorney, Pro Bono Services

Virginia Lawyer Referral Service (VLRS) assists the general public with referrals to practicing members of the Virginia State Bar who might provide pro bono (free) services. 

If you think you have a problem which may require the services of a lawyer, based on information given to the referral specialist who will request your name and a brief description of your problem, you will be provided with the name and telephone number of a lawyer in your community or an attorney who may provide free services. 

After receiving the name of a lawyer, call the lawyer to schedule an appointment. VLRS will connect you to a lawyer in your area for $35. You receive a consultation of up to a half hour with him or her – no strings attached. Learn more under frequently asked questions.  

You will be entitled to consult with him or her for up to one half hour for a fee of $35. If it appears that you do not need a lawyer, you will be directed to an agency that may be able to help.  How Lawyer Referral Works

There is no obligation for either you or the lawyer to go beyond the first consultation.
