Rental Relief for Elderly and Disabled

The Rental Relief Program is to provide payment of grants to qualified tenants living in the city of Charlottesville. Applicant must be 65 years of age or permanently and totally disabled as of December 31 of the grant year. If the applicant is under age 65 and permanently and totally disabled and receiving Social Security compensation, call for further necessary requirements. The combined household income must not exceed $50,000 per year. If the renter or their spouse is permanently disabled, the first $7500 of income is excluded from the total household income. The net worth of the renter and their spouse must be less than $125,000. The renter also must have paid rent for a dwelling withing the Cty of Charlottesville during the previous year and be a resident of the city on December 31st of the previous year.
