Who We Are
The Salvation Army's Emergency Shelter serves single men and women and up to two families when space is available. Serves individuals who have been caught up in disaster or hardship, but also those from abused families as well as single men and women in need of help. Anyone who has lost their way in life and needs an organization to help can find that help in our Christian Based Shelter.
The shelter is open 4 pm until 8 am Monday through Friday and from 3 pm until 9 am on Saturday and Sunday. Client Registration begins daily at 4:00 pm. The evening meal is served at 5 pm. Single persons must be 18 years of age. Before coming to the shelter for registration, all guests must receive a "pass" from Harrisonburg Police Department. Upon entry, all guests will be screened for alcohol and drug use. Families must have birth certificates or custody papers for all minors before entry.
