Who We Are

GED review -Designed for persons who did not complete high school. By passing the GED Test adults may meet educational requirements for employment, job promotion, or admission to college. This class provides the instruction you may need for the GED Test. You may need to study for all the tests, or you may only need to brush-up your skills in a few areas. Call for information, 853-2151. ($20.00 book fee)

pre- Ged Review Class is free.

Designed to meet the needs of adults who score between fourth and eighth grade education level. This class helps students prepare for the GED preparatory classes. ($20.00 book fee) English as a Second Language;

(Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Levels)

For foreign-born or non-English speaking adults. Students may enter class at anytime. Classes help to improve understanding in reading, writing and speaking of English. Call 853-2151 for class details. Nighttime classes only offered at Patrick Henry High School - McQuilkin Hall and Ruffner Middle School and daytime classes only offered at the Adult Education Office. GED TESTING $35.00

This examination can qualify persons for the GED certificate, a substitute for the high school diploma. Most employers and colleges recognize the GED certificate as equal to a high school diploma. Roanoke City serves as a regional testing center. Pre-register at least five (5) working days prior to the testing date. Bring identification, preferably a driver's license, and the $35 testing fee when you register. If you have questions, call 853-2151.
