Who We Are
Housing Families First Building Neighbors program provides rapid rehousing to families and single women who are living in a place not meant for human habitation or in a homeless shelter. Under this program families experiencing homelessness move into permanent housing and receive case management and other supportive services. The family is either homeless or within three days of being homeless. The family and case manager meet to develop a housing action plan.
Major goals for housing, employment, education, health, spirituality, community connections, and parenting/children are set in a Life Plan that is updated quarterly. Progress is assured by setting small, incremental steps that lead to goal completion.
NOTE: A family cannot call us directly for assistance. The referral comes to us from our coordinated entry system via the Housing Crisis Line. A referral cannot come directly from community agents or self-referral.
Case management is also offered along with financial assistance to provide resources and coaching on how to sustain housing stability through budgeting and setting goals.
