Who We Are
Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach Campus, provides a two-year, non-residential institution which offers a comprehensive program designed to meet the needs of area citizens. Cooperates with local industry, business, professions, and government to provide the requirements for trained manpower. A Director of Economic and Technology Development is available to assist local businesses in finding solutions to perplexing problems through research and identification of available resources.
Several programs in the Allied Health and Hotel-Restaurant-Institutional management areas are offered at this campus. Vocational Rehabilitation-The College works with the State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation in providing education and training for persons with handicaps. Financial Aid-It is the agency's desire that no qualified students be denied educational services due to financial need. The Financial Aid Office provides information concerning aid programs and administers financial aid programs funded by the federal government.
Admissions Testing-The agency administers English, mathematics, and reading placement tests to new students planning to enter one of the Associate Degree, Diploma, or Certificate Programs. Tests are administered prior to registration and after the student has been accepted.
Maintains a job placement service to aid students in securing employment while attending college, during vacations, and after graduation. Among the education services for self instruction, an audio-visual media learning laboratory is provided.
