Who We Are

To Our House, a program of New River Community Action (NRCA), provides thermal shelter and compassionate care to homeless single men and women in the New River Valley area. The mission is to connect these individuals with resources that lead to employment, housing, and personal economic sustainability.

Call 540-639-3159 to reserve a bed. A screening is done, an individual signs in, and a list of house rules is given. A hot evening meal, breakfast, and a bag lunch are provided also.

Shelter is offered generally from the end of October to the end of March. Report daily to Intake Center at the NRCA office at 110 Roanoke Street in Christiansburg before 5:30 pm. Transportation will be provided to the host site. Evening meals and breakfast will be provided and transportation is provided back to the Intake Center.  A bag lunch is provided for the day.
