Who We Are

The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) of the U.S. is a nonprofit veterans’ service organization composed of combat veterans and eligible members from the active, Guard and Reserve forces. The mission of the VFW is to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts, to serve our veterans, the military and our communities and to advocate on behalf of all veterans.  Post 609 meets on the second Saturday of every month at Noon at our “Post Home”, in the Caretaker’s building of the Alexandria National Cemetery, located on Wilkes Street in Alexandria, VA.
