Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program

Virginia Supportive Housing (VHS), through the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program, helps Veteran families address issues in order to secure permanent housing.  The SSVF also promotes housing stability among very low income Veteran families who reside in or are transitioning to permanent housing. 



The SSVF staff provides case management, housing, and outreach services in order to develop a plan to achieve housing stability.  SSVF staff also serves as a link for eligible Veterans to VA benefits and other public benefits.



SSVF provides temporary financial assistance to help Veteran families remain in permanent housing or obtain permanent housing. Payments consist of temporary financial assistance payments on behalf of Veteran families to landlords, utility companies, and moving companies in order to obtain or remain in permanent housing.

Although we provide housing and supportive services for Veterans throughout Virginia, we also offer housing specifically tailored to Veterans in our Veterans Apartments community located in Richmond, Virginia, and through specialized programs, such as Supportive Services for Veteran Families.
