Who We Are
The Homeless Services Center offers a shelter program now expanded year-round, both during the hypothermia season and summer season. The Shelter normally has sleeping arrangements for over 80 people per night (55 shelter beds, five medical respite beds). From November through March during the winter season, there are 25 additional beds. Three meals a day, showers, laundry facilities, and access to medical care and case management services are available.
Case management, mental health, and substance abuse services and meals are available to shelter guests. Case managers link shelter guests to transitional and permanent housing programs. They assist guests with dental and medical referrals. Mental health and substance abuse therapists are available through our partnership with Arlington County's Treatment on Wheels program. A nurse will be available to clients at the shelter through the EWS Nursing Program.
All those in need of shelter should first contact the Department of Human Services Community Assistance Bureau at (703) 228-1330.
