Who We Are

When a patient requests travel between two cities, American Organ Transplant Association (AOTA) requests that the transplant coordinator or social worker complete the transportation form found on the website. Once the form is received, AOTA is able to book the patient's travel round trip on Greyhound. The social worker should contact AOTA directly for the fastest service. At this time, Greyhound is unable to extend its community outreach program to other bus carriers. AOTA is only able to arrange complimentary bus travel with the Greyhound buses. Travel is for the contiguous United States.

All exceptions or questions will be considered and should be directed to AOTA.

A professional referral from a social worker or transplant coordinator is required using the transportation form available on the website. Our preferred method of contact is by email at aotaonline@gmail.com. You may also contact us at 832-930-AOTA (2682). Calls go to voice mail and are returned as soon as our volunteers are able to return the call. When you book your trip, advise if you are traveling with a wheelchair or mobility scooter, and if you plan to sit during your journey. All buses have a wheelchair lift. Each Greyhound bus can fit two passengers sitting in a wheelchair or scooter.
