Respite Relief for Military and Veteran Caregivers Now Available Nationwide
The Elizabeth Dole Foundation and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs joined together to provide Respite Relief for Military and Veteran Caregivers, which offers family caregivers of Veterans access to no-cost, short-term relief with the help of in-home care professionals.
CareLinx provided a generous contribution to begin the first phase of this program. Now multiple partners are responding to this call to support military and veteran caregivers. With additional funds from the Wounded Warrior Project, the Respite Relief program is now available nationwide.
For this program, respite relief services include:
- Companionship
- Transportation
- Bathing, grooming, and toileting
- Medication reminders
- Help with mobility
- Meals and housekeeping
- Exercise and recreation
