Virginia Veteran and Family Support Program

Outreach, Connection and Support

Virginia Veteran and Family Support Program (VVFS) is operated statewide by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) and provides outreach, connection and support to veterans and their families. VVFS addresses the challenges of military service, transition, deployments, post trumatic stress or other behavioral health concerns as well as traumatic brain injuries and physical injuries.

This program monitors and coordinates behavioral health, rehabilitative, and support services for veterans.  There is special emphasis on those affected by stress-related and traumatic brain injuries resulting from military service. The program works to ensure that these veterans and their families receive timely assessment, treatment, and support.

VVFS supports Virginia veterans and members of the Virginia National Guard and Virginia residents of the Armed Forces not in active federal service. The program also supports the family members of these veterans, Guard and Reserve members.

NOTE: This program was formerly the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program

VVFS assists all Virginia veterans regardless of discharge type, time and service, or era.
