Who We Are

The Office of Community Services (DCS) provides some rental assistance to eligible, low-income persons facing a housing crisis. The goal is to help stabilize the household and to prevent the household from becoming homeless. Call the Customer Call Center at (703) 746-5700 or text (703) 346-5599 for an assessment.

Senior Rent Relief Program offers cash grants of up to $6000 per year to low-income renters who are 65 or older or permanently and totally disabled and who have no other assistance to help pay their rent. Applications are renewed annually and are due by May 1. Applications received after this date may be placed on a waiting list depending on available funding.

Approved applicants will receive monthly benefits on a sliding scale based on their income. The combined income for all persons living in the home must be less than $25,600 per year. Applicants must provide proof of income and proof of disability if under the age of 65. Call (703) 746-5700 for assistance.
