Who We Are

Norfolk Community Services Board's mental health professionals provide speakers, in-service training, education, presentations, and outreach to the community at large in issues pertaining to mental health, substance abuse, violence, parenting skills, social skills, and other pertinent topics.



Community Liaisons take an active role in educating the residents of the City of Norfolk about issues related to substance abuse, violence and mental health. They educate the community on a variety of topics which promote healthy lifestyles.



Services provided under the Prevention Program umbrella are as follows:

  • Substance abuse education;
  • Violence prevention;
  • Life skills training;
  • Abstinence and sex education;
  • Coping skills;
  • Mental health promotion;
  • Suicide prevention;
  • Parent education.
