Who We Are

The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board offers the Teen Alternative Program (TAP) which provides an intensive therapeutic and educational environment for seventh through twelfth grade adolescents.

While attending the Teen Alternative Program, teens will address issues such as:

  •     severe mood swings;
  •     depression;
  •     trauma;
  •     attachment;
  •     school anxiety;
  •     self-injurious behavior;
  •     substance use;
  •     co-occurring disorders;
  •     ADHD;
  •     anxiety;
  •     family conflicts;
  •     grief and loss;
  •     isolation or withdrawal;
  •     peer relationships.

Teens enrolled in the Teen Alternative Program participate in counseling, rehabilitative services, and school. This level of treatment is appropriate for teenagers who have serious emotional disabilities or dual diagnoses of serious emotional disabilities and a substance use disorder.
