Who We Are
The Daily Planet offers Medical Respite. Medical Respite in a 20-bed facility designed to provide convalescent care upon hospital discharge for adults who do not have appropriate living arrangements to support recuperation. It provides 24-hour staff supervision with the ultimate goal of establishing a medical home and attaining stable housing. Medical Respite Referral Form
The discharging facility can refer the patient to the Medical Respite facility. This process generally takes 24 hours. For more information about the Medical Respite, call Andre Young, RN, at 804.292.3030, extension 318.
Primary care services are provided and clients are encouraged to accept DPHS as their medical home if there is not one already established. Health education is provided as well as three healthy meals and snacks each day.
