Who We Are

Cornerstones (formerly Reston Interfaith) offers financial assistance under the Emergency and Self-Sufficiency Services Program (ESSP). The program is in partnership with Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services Coordinated Services Planning (CSP).



Financial assistance may be available to eligible individuals to pay overdue rent or utility bills so that they may remain safe and comfortable in their own homes. When a person receives any financial assistance, they are required to attend a financial literacy class



Households in need of utility assistance must first call CSP at (703) 222-0880 for an initial telephone interview. If they qualify and live in Reston or Herndon, they are referred to Cornerstones. After presenting a photo identification and proof of address within the last 30 days, help is provided.
