Who We Are

The Mission is to support, promote, and maintain the health, independence, quality of life, and productivity of individuals with Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders (SCI&D). There are 2 basic types of facilities: SCI Center and SCI Primary Care Teams.

A SCI Center has a team of people who are experts at handling the problems that can happen with a spinal cord injury. Most veterans should be seen for an annual evaluation by doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, therapists, and others. An SCI Center is also called a "Hub"

SCI Primary Care Team: The Team is made up of at least one doctor, nurse, and social worker who helps with the everyday healthcare needs of veterans with a spinal cord injury or disorder. Veterans should receive routine care. SCI Primary Care Team is also called "Spokes".
