Who We Are

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a federally funded rent subsidy program that enables low-income families to choose and lease safe, decent and affordable rental housing. The family is required to pay 30 percent of their household income towards rent and utilities; the Virginia Housing Development Authority pays the remainder. Housing inspections are done initially and annually. Families are responsible for finding their own housing which can be located in Virginia or in another state.
