Who We Are

NAMI Tennessee offers support groups throughout the State for those who suffer from mental illness, their families, loved ones & advocates of mental health.  A support group meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 672 Island Road in Bristol, Virginia.  Contact Linda Flanagan for more information at 1.866.337.3291.

Nami Tennessee offers classes for families, consumers, children. Nami volunteers attend many health Fairs in the Tri-Cities area each year to promote understanding and help to de-stigmatize mental illness by informing the public that this is an illness of the body, just like diabetes or high blood pressure. All require a diagnosis, follow-up with a doctor, staying on medication just like diabetics and those with hypertension need to not to stop medications without advice of their doctor and to keep all appointments and inform your health care provider of any unusual side effects with your medicines as anyone with any type of illness.

Another support group meets in Kingsport, Tennessee on the 1st Thursday of each month at 7 pm, at the First Baptist Church, 200 West Church Circle, in the Welcome Center Building on Holston Street.
