Who We Are
For Kids offers a regional emergency shelter program to provide families in need with resources to recover from homelessness and stabilize their lives, move into a home and accomplish self-sufficiency. Emergency Shelter offers shelter and services for families while they work to obtain permanent housing.
In other areas such as Chesapeake and Western Tidewater, a voucher for a stay at a hotel is combined with services to assist families.
The ForKids Housing Crisis Hotline is the central point of contact for all persons experiencing a housing crisis throughout Southeastern Virginia. Through the Hotline, we connect individuals in crisis to our community’s extended network of resources for assistance and to prevent them from falling into homelessness whenever possible.
