Who We Are
The Virginia Beach Community Services Board, part of the Virginia Beach Department of Human Services, is the administrative office for planning, evaluation, administration of public programs and related services applicable to mental health, intellectual disability and substance abuse, for area residents.
Community based services are delivered by the City's Department of Human Services Mental Health and Substance Abuse and Intellectual Disability Divisions. Services are also provided for people with developmental disabilities. The service continuum includes emergency, prevention, outpatient, day support, vocational, case management, and residential services. Funding to support services includes the following revenue streams: federal, state and local dollars; Medicaid; contractual fees; and client fees.
