Veterans Only Job Fair

Med Beat: Veterans Only job fair will be Tuesday, April 17, 2018. The Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the Virginia Employment Commission are sponsoring the annual veterans-only regional job fair on April 17.
The job fair will take place in the medical center’s auditorium from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 20 employers are expected. VA staff will be available for veterans who need assistance in preparing resumes or would welcome tips on getting hired.
“We realize many veterans are faced with challenges in finding gainful employment. We are very proud to be in partnership with VEC and many area employers who have an interest in hiring and working with veterans,” said Rebecca Stackhouse, medical center director in a news release. “Veterans bring a wide array of experience, skills, and training which make them ideal candidates for many positions.”
