The State of Virginia is offering a new license plate that is focused around supporting Women Veterans. Revenue from the "I Support Women Veterans" plate will be shared with the Department of Veteran Services to help fund the Women Veterans Summit for many upcoming years. To make this plate a reality 450 more applications are needed by January 2019. If the goal of 450 more applications, along with checks for the plate, are met the Virginia General Assembly will approve the plate and it will be ready to be sent out around June 2019.
The cost for standard plates is $25 and vanity plates is $35. If you would like to support Virginia's Women Veterans through the purchase of this plate and your registration gets renewed before the plate goes live next year, the DMV will do the math for you and let you know what you owe.
Anyone can get this plate. The "I Support Women Veterans" plate is different from the other military plates offered. You do not need to provide a DD214. Handicap identifiers are always availble to be put on this plate as well.
Applications and checks mustbe mailed to Karen Gordwin at the address on the application. Please DO NOT send the application to the DMV. To access the application and instructions on where to send it along with payment, click here.
