America’s military provides something so unique to its servicemembers and their families: an instant community. This community supports one another during deployments, births, birthdays, etc. The military community becomes family.
What happens when servicemembers retire or separate? The community moves on and often the veteran and his/her family members can feel lost as they try and assimilate into the new civilian world they are a part of. Veterans and their family members do not have to feel this way. There are many Veteran Service Organizations, networking groups, sports and recreation groups, and activities and advocacy throughout the Commonwealth embracing the needs of veterans and their family members.
