More and more studies are showing the positive impact between exercise and healing the deep wounds combat can have on the lives of our military's veterans. The Catch A Lift Fund (CAL) is an organization that is "changing bodies, healing minds, and saving lives" through granted fitness programs nationwide. Catch A Lift is mentally and physically healing veterans one by one.
The Catch A Lift Fund was founded in memory of Army Cpl. Chris Coffland, who lost his life in Afghanistan, while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom, November 2009. CAL's mission is rooted in his lifelong belief that through fitness, one can reach their highest potential both mentally and physically. CAL believes fitness is a personal choice, individual as each member. Choosing how and where to workout, offering options for coaching, accountability and mentors assures that each veterans unique needs are met.
The Catch A Lift Fund currently serves over 2900 veterans and has a growing network of 1500 plus gyms. CAL has multiple ways to get involved. You can apply for grant funding as a veteran, join the network of gyms as a gym owner, become a volunteer, donate to assist veterans, or participate in any of the local events in your area.
