During the Month of March, as a Nation, we celebrate Women’s History. During this month we honor the hard work and contributions made by women in the past and present. As we look to our military this is a time to reflect on the ever-changing role held by women. Over the years, and throughout the nation’s wars, we have watched to role of the woman move from a support figure to a combat figure. Today’s veterans are not merely men, but also many women who have answered the call to defend. Throughout the Month of March there are several ways you can honor those women who have served and are serving:
Visit a museum in Virginia dedicated to women in service.
Visit your local VA Hospital and ask how you can serve the women veterans at the hospital.
Check out our community calendar for local events you can attend in your area that highlight the service of our women veterans.
